Senior Data Engineer who designs and maintains batch and event-driven data pipelines connecting legacy IBM DB2 databases, enterprise/ERP and payroll systems, and AWS. Day-to-day work centers on DB2 query/stored-procedure optimization, ETL/ELT development, data quality controls, and legacy-to-cloud modernization using Python or Java and advanced SQL.
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in IBM DB2 and legacy data integration to design, develop, and maintain reliable data pipelines connecting enterprise applications, payroll systems, and modern cloud platforms.
The ideal candidate combines deep database knowledge, strong programming skills, and experience modernizing legacy data environments.
? Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain batch and event-driven data pipelines.
- Optimize IBM DB2 queries, stored procedures, indexes, and data extraction processes.
- Build integrations between DB2, enterprise applications, ERP systems, and AWS cloud services.
- Implement ETL/ELT processes, data validation, reconciliation, and quality controls.
- Monitor production pipelines, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure data reliability.
- Design scalable data architectures and support legacy-to-cloud modernization.
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, and operations teams.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on expertise in IBM DB2 (LUW and/or DB2 for i) — mandatory.
- Proven experience extracting and integrating data from legacy DB2 environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or Java .
- Advanced SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, and database performance tuning.
- Experience designing, developing, and supporting production ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, data quality, and integration patterns.
- Experience with production monitoring, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
- Advanced English proficiency (C1) for technical collaboration and architecture discussions.
