About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our talented engineering team in Singapore River Central Region. This is a contract position that offers the opportunity to work on challenging, high-impact projects with a dynamic team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust software solutions whilst providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members. Your expertise and strategic thinking will be instrumental in shaping our technology roadmap and driving the success of our software initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality software solutions using modern programming languages and frameworks
• Architect scalable and maintainable systems that meet business requirements and industry best practices
• Lead code reviews and establish coding standards to ensure consistency and quality across the team
• Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through deployment and maintenance
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovations to enhance our technology stack
• Document code and technical specifications to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation within the engineering team

What we’re looking for

• Minimum of 7-10 years of professional software development experience in a senior or lead capacity
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, Go, or TypeScript
• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems and microservices architectures
• Deep understanding of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Proficiency with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about technical challenges
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Proven track record of mentoring junior developers and fostering a collaborative team environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Experience with agile development methodologies and working in fast-paced environments is highly desirable
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
