2nd Line Helpdesk and Infrastructure Support

Salary: £45,000 - 45,000 per year

• Previous experience in a second-line IT support or technical service desk role within a Managed Service Provider environment
• Previous experience supporting IT infrastructure
• Understanding of networking, IT security, web servers and patch management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proactive approach to resolving technical issues and improving IT processes
• Full, valid UK driving licence
• Ability to pass BPSS and DBS checks and eligibility to obtain SC security clearance

• Provide second-line IT support
• Log, manage and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs
• Administer Microsoft 365 and manage Active Directory
• Maintain and troubleshoot Windows servers, Hyper-V environments and Linux
• Support web servers
• Assist with network troubleshooting, connectivity and infrastructure security
• Carry out patch management
• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to IT systems and support processes
• Support users across on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based services
• Contribute to infrastructure maintenance, IT security, system improvements and wider technical projects

We are recruiting for a full-time, permanent second-line Helpdesk and Infrastructure Support role based in Melksham, paying £45,000 per annum. This is a varied, hands-on position combining service desk support with infrastructure administration, working as part of a team to provide users with an efficient and reliable IT support service. The role covers Microsoft 365, Active Directory, servers, virtualisation, networking and endpoint management. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, totalling 37.5 hours per week.
