2nd Shift Dispatcher - Experience Needed

Northern Logistics is looking for a dependable and motivated 1st and 2nd Shift Dispatcher to join our growing team.

• Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5 PM / 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Monday-Friday

• Enter and manage customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Coordinate and dispatch loads to drivers
• Source and secure backhaul freight using load boards, brokers, and shippers
• Negotiate freight rates and manage load details to support cost-effective operations
• Monitor freight markets and identify opportunities to maximize truck utilization
• Communicate with drivers, customers, brokers, and shippers to ensure smooth operations and on-time deliveries
• Troubleshoot issues and make quick, effective decisions throughout the shift
• Maintain accurate and timely records of freight and dispatch activity
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient daily transportation operations

Requirements

• Previous dispatch, transportation, or logistics experience preferred
• Training provided for the right candidate
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
• Comfortable making decisions and solving problems independently
• Ability to remain calm and professional when handling time-sensitive situations
