2nd Shift, Quality Tech II, Lab
Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a 2nd Shift, Quality Tech II, Lab for our City of Industry, California location.
Born from many well-known and long-standing brands, Howmet Fastening Systems, headquartered in Torrance, California, is the premier designer and manufacturer of aerospace and industrial fasteners, latches, fluid fittings and installation tools. Our products are used nose to tail on commercial and military aircraft, as well as on jet engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, wind turbines, solar power systems, and construction and industrial equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Good communication skills & know basic shop math
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Basic understanding of work instructions, routers, blueprints, drawings, and specifications in English
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as required
• Able to lift/move up to 30 pounds regularly
• Able to follow and carryout instructions
• Must be detailed oriented
• Become familiar with the Daily Management board and understand covered topics as required
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use/be trained on proper use and reading of micrometers and calipers
• Must be able to pass vision test
• Can interface with auditors and customer representatives
• Able to use sampling plans, drawing, instructions, standards and specifications to verify product acceptance with assistance
• Ability to prepare quality lab documentation
• Reviewing raw material for compliance with appropriate specifications
• Able to ensure all testing is complete with accuracy and results are legible
• Able to perform 2 of the 6 tests (with assistance if needed)
- High Cycle Fatigue Testing
-Stress Rupture Testing
-Microhardness Testing
-Macro Examination of samples
-Tensile Testing
-Hydrogen Analyzer
• Ability to mounting, polishing and etching samples for micro and macro examination
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of Quality Experience required
- Employee must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant’s ability to lawfully obtain access to such items
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
