Summary
A senior 3rd line IT support engineer at a London-based MSP, acting as the escalation point for complex infrastructure issues across Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, Hyper-V/VMware, networking and security, while delivering client infrastructure projects and mentoring junior engineers.
Salary: £76,000 - 90,000 per year
Requirements:- We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line IT Support Engineer or Senior Infrastructure Engineer.
- You should have strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPOs and WDS.
- You should have experience with Hyper-V and VMware virtualisation.
- You should have experience with Microsoft Azure, including Azure AD, Virtual Machines and Storage.
- You should have experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam, Cove and Acronis.
- You should have strong networking knowledge, including VLANs, subnetting, TCP/IP, LAGs and VPNs.
- You should have experience with firewalls including Fortinet, Juniper, WatchGuard and/or Palo Alto.
- You should have experience with storage solutions such as Dell PowerVault and Synology.
- You should have experience with endpoint protection platforms including Microsoft Defender and Sophos.
- You should have experience delivering infrastructure projects, including server migrations, cloud deployments and network upgrades.
- You should be comfortable working directly with clients and acting as a technical escalation point within an MSP environment.
- We provide 3rd line support and expert troubleshooting across server environments, virtualisation, networking, cloud and security.
- We act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues.
- We manage and deliver infrastructure projects, including server migrations, virtualisation deployments, Azure solutions and network upgrades.
- We work directly with clients to understand technical requirements and provide appropriate solutions.
- We support and mentor junior engineers, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
- We design and implement security solutions, including firewalls, endpoint protection and cloud security.
- We maintain accurate technical documentation covering system configurations, solutions and troubleshooting.
- We provide clients with technical recommendations and performance reports.

This is a senior technical role focused on resolving complex infrastructure issues, supporting client environments and delivering high-quality IT solutions.
