We are currently searching for a ABB Robot Programmer:

The Challenge (Responsibilities)

  • Develop, modify, and maintain ABB robot programs using the RAPID programming language for spot welding, arc welding, material handling, adhesive application, sealing, and assembly operations.
  • Develop and maintain ABB RobotStudio simulation models to validate robotic processes in a virtual manufacturing environment, conducting reach studies, collision detection, and cycle time analysis.
  • Collaborate with Factory Planning teams to define robotic system requirements, support production line layouts, and evaluate automation opportunities for new truck and cab programs.
  • Support the installation, commissioning, and production launch of robotic systems, verifying programs and performing debugging/troubleshooting during plant startup.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance metrics to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for cycle time reduction and throughput enhancement using Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Interface robots with PLC systems, Vision systems, Servo systems, Conveyors, and MES, coordinating seamlessly with controls engineers.
  • Create and maintain robot program documentation, process specifications, and validation reports in compliance with Our Client's engineering standards.

Your Profile (Requirements)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Robotics Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial robotics programming.
  • Proven experience in automotive manufacturing environments, particularly supporting production launches and factory automation projects.
  • Strong technical proficiency in PLC integration, industrial networking, machine vision systems, robot calibration, and multi-robot synchronization.
  • High-Performance Mindset: Resilience, emotional intelligence, and a focus on agile delivery.
  • Technologist DNA: A deep understanding of the difference between "coding" and "engineering."

Desired

  • Experience with truck, heavy vehicle, or automotive body shop automation, including robotic welding systems.
  • Experience supporting greenfield or brownfield factory projects and familiarity with virtual commissioning technologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD and Digital Manufacturing tools such as Process Simulate or DELMIA.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native foundations or AI coding assistants.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing ABB RobotStudio and RAPID programming.

Languages

  • Advanced Oral English: For seamless collaboration with global teams.
  • Advanced Spanish.
