Account Executive
Posted
American Sound is growing, and we're investing in the people who drive that growth. As an Account Executive, you won't be selling alone: every deal is backed by a dedicated technical engineer, a defined sales methodology, and a leadership team building a real career path for reps who perform. This is a seat for someone who wants to build a book of business in commercial AV and grow into it, not just fill a quota.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sell commercial audio-visual design, integration, and support solutions to enterprise, healthcare, and education clients
- Drive new business early in your ramp (roughly 70% of your time), shifting toward account growth and retention as your pipeline matures (roughly 30/70)
- Build relationships through networking with commercial and corporate groups to source new opportunities
- Run the full sales cycle: discovery, proposal generation, negotiation, and close
- Partner directly with a dedicated technical engineer to scope and deliver customized client solutions
- Manage your pipeline and forecast using our CRM and sales process
What Success Looks Like:
- You consistently generate net-new pipeline in your target verticals within the first 2 quarters
- You build proposals and negotiate deals independently, using your technical engineer as a resource, not a crutch
- Your existing accounts grow year over year as your book matures
- You operate within a structured sales process (we use MEDDPICC) and keep your pipeline accurately forecasted
What We're Looking For:
Must-haves:
Must-haves:
- 5+ years of commercial AV sales experience, with a track record of hitting or exceeding quota
- Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle, from prospecting through contract negotiation
- Comfort working within a draw-against-commission structure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to sell technical solutions to non-technical buyers
Nice-to-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
- Experience selling into enterprise, healthcare, or education verticals specifically
- Familiarity with formal sales methodologies (MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Challenger, etc.)
- Experience managing and forecasting a pipeline
Compensation & Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, Monday–Friday
- Compensation: $90K–$100K annual draw; once draw is achieved, commission at 30% gross profit
- Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; 401(k); PTO and paid holidays
- Growth: Defined career progression for reps who perform, with clear criteria for advancement
