Account Manager
Role
The Sales Account Manager is responsible for leading and developing the commercial activities related to industrial minerals for refractory applications. This role involves driving revenue growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and ensuring alignment with the company’s technical, quality, and supply chain requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial skills with a solid understanding of industrial processes, refractory materials, and high-temperature applications.
Responsibilities
Execution of the Commercial Strategy
- Implement the sales strategy defined with the Sales Director and executive management.
- Monitor pipeline development, key performance indicators (KPIs), and sales forecasts.
- Analyze commercial results to identify improvement opportunities and adjust actions.
Market & Business Development
- Identify new business opportunities in the refractory industry (steel, foundry, cement, glass, ceramics, petrochemicals, etc.).
- Manage long sales cycles and build strong relationships with technical and procurement teams.
- Support the sales team in complex negotiations, long-term supply contracts, and pricing strategies.
- Conduct market monitoring regarding competitors, raw materials, regulations, and industrial trends.
Key Account & Customer Relationship Management
- Engage with major customers and strategic accounts to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Participate in technical meetings, audits, and customer qualification processes.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade fairs, and technical events.
Internal Coordination & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to meet customer expectations.
- Communicate market and customer feedback to help improve product quality and innovation.
- Ensure alignment between production capacities, product specifications, and customer demand.
- Collaborate with the finance department on pricing structures and commercial policies.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, forecasts, and market developments.
- Ensure accurate CRM usage and data reliability across the team.
- Track profitability, manage budgets, and contribute to annual commercial planning.
Requirements
Educational and Professional Background
- 5–10 years of experience in industrial sales.
- Previous experience in refractory minerals, ceramics, metallurgy, mining, or industrial materials strongly preferred.
- Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- English fluency required
Key competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of industrial minerals, refractory products, or high-temperature applications.
- Solid understanding of materials science, mining, or industrial manufacturing (a strong asset).
- Experience with long-term B2B contracts and technical sales cycles.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and data analysis tools.
