About the Job:

The accounting reconciliations specialist is responsible for performing timely and accurate account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, supporting month end and year end close processes and ensuring the integrity of the financial data. Additional duties will include lead Accounting SME for TICF SOX compliance support, lead accounting support with internal and external audit, and lead Accounting SME collaborating with affiliate business units and departments on special projects. This role works closely with accounting, Accounts receivable, tax and other operational teams to maintain accurate financial records and support compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare complex cash clearing account reconciliations ensuring that balances are clearly understood, and any discrepancies resolved in a timely manner.
  • Accounting SME working closely with AR Admin team, and other operations teams on reporting or reconciliation issues
  • Maintain reconciliation documentation and supporting schedules for audit purposes
  • Monitor aged reconciling items and coordinate resolution with appropriate departments
  • Conduct monthly meetings with cash application team to resolve open items
  • Collaborate with other cross functional teams to resolve accounting issues and improve data accuracy
  • Research accounting issues to ensure adherence to GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standards
  • Review accounting processes and procedures to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
  • Prepare reports and communicate reconciliation status to management
  • Prepare desktop guides for performing Accountant duties
  • Assist with external and internal audit requests by providing supporting documentation and explanations
  • Assist Commercial Finance with maintaining proper governance and controls over business activities
  • Lead Accounting SME for assigned analytical and special projects
  • Lead Accounting SME with functional groups and outside service providers in support of system modification projects (major upgrades, enhancements, error correction, etc.)

Qualifications You’ll Need:

Must Have:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years or more of accounting experience and U.S. GAAP knowledge. IFRS experience is a plus
  • Advanced skills using MS Office products, primarily with Excel and more complex formulas (e.g. SumIf, Vlookup, Pivot Tables, macros)
  • Strong working knowledge with SAP/Simple Finance, or similar ERP platform
  • Strong analytical abilities capable of performing technical accounting research and accounting as assigned
  • Ability to prepare accounting desk guides that can be used for cross-training purposes
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited University

Great to Have:

  • Knowledge of/experience in the financial services industry a plus
  • Experience with SAP / Odessa / Oracle a plus
