Advisory Solutions Architect

About the role

We are looking for passionate individuals to join our presales organization who are eager to provide strong technical support for our platform and help MongoDB grow based on customer needs.

MongoDB Presales Solutions Architects guide customers and users in designing and building reliable, scalable systems using the MongoDB data platform. This team is composed of experienced technical sales professionals, software architects, entrepreneurs, and developers who take direct responsibility for customer success, including software design, deployment, and operations. This role works closely with sales professionals to solve customer business problems using MongoDB solutions, playing a key role in closing deals and business development. We are looking for someone to become a trusted advisor to a wide range of users, from startups to the world's largest enterprise IT organizations.

In line with our hybrid work policy, we are looking for candidates who can commute to our Seoul, South Korea office.

As an ideal candidate, you will have

• 12+ years of experience in customer-facing roles (3+ years of enterprise software presales experience preferred)
• 3+ years of professional experience with modern scripting languages like Python, Node.js, or SQL, or popular programming languages such as C/C++, Java, or C#
• Experience designing scalable, high-availability distributed systems in cloud and on-premise environments
• Experience reviewing complex architectures of existing applications and proposing improvements through technology utilization
• Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with technical and business leadership
• Ability to collaborate strategically with sales teams and develop multi-faceted customer strategies
• Ability to travel up to 25%
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

• Experience in database sales and application deployment with major cloud providers
• Experience with database programming and data models
• Experience participating in data engineering or AI/ML projects
• Experience transforming legacy systems into modern, scalable, and efficient technology stacks
• Understanding of popular sales methodologies/frameworks such as MEDDPICC/Command of the Message
• MongoDB or cloud provider certifications

• Design and Architecture: Design scalable and high-performance applications, systems, and infrastructure for large-scale software projects
• Customer Advising and Value Articulation: Guide customers on MongoDB architecture patterns and optimization strategies, and clearly communicate business value to relevant stakeholders
• Sales Collaboration: Handle technical aspects of the sales process, including technical discovery, demos, proof of value, and presentations
• Demand Generation: Participate in industry events and account-based marketing events to generate demand through technical initiatives
• Customer Success: Build strong customer relationships, cultivate customer champions, and ensure success and satisfaction
• Innovation and Improvement: Innovate and improve MongoDB solutions and processes, such as by relaying field feedback to the product team
• Training and Development: Continuous learning and self-development regarding the MongoDB product suite and industry trends

• Relational Migrator: Seamless migration tools for relational databases
