AEROSPACE PROJECT ENGINEER
Summary
Oversee aircraft maintenance and modification projects, coordinating trades and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, inspect, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance activities on aircraft, engines, avionics, structures, and various aircraft components.
- Support and coordinate aircraft maintenance and modification projects from planning through completion.
- Monitor project progress, manpower deployment, work schedules, and completion timelines to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate closely with various aircraft maintenance trades, including B1, B2, Sheet Metal, and Cabin, to ensure smooth workflow and steady project progress.
- Review and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and other relevant technical documentation.
- Identify technical issues and work closely with the relevant engineering and maintenance teams to implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all maintenance and project activities are carried out in accordance with approved procedures, aviation regulations, safety requirements, and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, project documentation, inspection reports, and progress updates.
- Liaise with internal teams, customers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders where required to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
- Assist in identifying potential project risks, delays, manpower constraints, and technical challenges, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, work quality, safety, and project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–10 years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably within an MRO, airline, aviation engineering, or aerospace environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of aircraft maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair processes.
- Experience working with or coordinating multiple aircraft maintenance trades, such as B1, B2, Sheet Metal, and Cabin, will be highly advantageous.
- Ability to interpret and understand mechanical engineering blueprints, aircraft technical drawings, and maintenance documentation under supervisory guidance.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across different technical teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Able to work independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including night shifts, depending on project requirements.
- Relevant aircraft maintenance qualifications, licences, or aerospace engineering qualifications will be an advantage.
