AI and Agentic Engineer
About the role
AITG Sdn Bhd is seeking an AI and Agentic Engineer to join our innovative technology team based in Penang. This is a contract position that offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge artificial intelligence and autonomous agent systems. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing intelligent systems that leverage advanced AI technologies and agentic frameworks to solve complex business challenges. You will play a crucial part in designing, building, and deploying AI solutions that drive value across our organisation and our clients' operations.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-powered systems and agentic solutions using modern frameworks and architectural patterns
- Implement machine learning models and algorithms to support autonomous agent decision-making and reasoning
- Build scalable backend systems and APIs that integrate with AI and agentic components
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and quality assurance to ensure robust and reliable AI systems
- Optimise system performance, reliability, and scalability for production environments
- Stay updated with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices in the industry
- Document technical specifications, system architectures, and implementation guidelines
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to AI systems and deployed agents
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on AI, machine learning, or agentic systems
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar
- Solid understanding of AI/ML concepts including neural networks, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, or agent-based systems
- Experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, AutoGen, or similar tools
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Preferred: Experience with LLMs (Large Language Models), prompt engineering, or autonomous agent orchestration
- Preferred: Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
