AI Automation Engineer

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000

Woods & Co Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a well-established accounting and advisory firm to find an AI Automation Engineer to join their growing team.

This is a rare opportunity for a hands-on AI and automation professional to shape how a firm and its client base actually use AI - not in theory, but in practice. Rather than a pure machine learning or software engineering role, this position is about applied AI: agents, automation platforms, integrations and LLM technologies, deployed to solve genuine business problems for accountants, advisors and their clients.

What you'll do:

• Design, build and deploy AI agents, agentic workflows and business automations
• Work directly with clients to understand their businesses, processes and pain points, identifying where AI can reduce manual work
• Implement AI solutions across different client accounts, systems and operating environments
• Develop internal AI and automation solutions for the firm's accounting and advisory teams, integrating them with existing platforms, APIs and data sources
• Manage solutions end-to-end, from requirements gathering through to build, implementation and adoption, including client training and support

What we're looking for:

• Proven hands-on experience actually building and implementing AI or automation solutions, not just designing them on paper
• Background within accounting, finance, fintech, banking, professional services or a consulting environment is highly regarded
• Strong technical grounding across AI agents, GenAI/LLMs, workflow automation and integrations/APIs; exposure to tools such as Power Automate/Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI/OpenAI, Python, n8n, LangChain/LangGraph, RAG or UiPath will be well regarded
• Confident working directly with clients: requirements gathering, process mapping and a genuine ability to understand how a business operates
• A track record of taking a manual business problem, identifying the AI opportunity, scoping it, building it and getting the client actually using it
