AI Software Engineer***

Summary

This 1-year contract role involves leading enterprise application development and integrating AI capabilities like LLMs, RAG, and AI agents. The engineer will manage the full SDLC, implement DevOps practices, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable cloud-based solutions.

This will be a 1-year contract position based in One North.

Responsibilities

  • Assess business needs and recommend appropriate technology and implementation approaches (build vs. buy and in-house vs. outsourced delivery) by collaborat6ing with Stakeholders.
  • Responsible for all aspects of enterprise applications deployed on-premises or in the cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform).
  • Lead application development and enhancement projects from requirements gathering through testing, deployment and operational handover.
  • Build secure APIs, system integrations and application services.
  • Develop and integrate AI-enabled capabilities by using LLM APIs, RAG, AI agents, tool calling and related technologies.
  • Project Management (scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, vendors and stakeholder communications).
  • System integration testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Enforce Agile, Scrum or hybrid delivery practices to support iterative development and delivery.
  • Enforce DevOps practices (Git, automated testing, CI/CD, containerisation, monitoring and logging).
  • Monitor system performance and fitness and recommend improvements to reliability, efficiency and user experience.
  • Review emerging software, cloud and AI technologies and recommend those that provide clear business value for adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in software development, application delivery or enterprise system implementation.
  • Experience in:
  • C#/.NET, Java or Python.
  • Developing web applications, APIs and system integrations.
  • AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Git, CI/CD, automated testing, Docker, microservices and DevOps practices.
  • AI-enabled application development, including LLM APIs, RAG, AI agents, embeddings/vector search or agentic frameworks.
  • Full SDLC and managing/coordinating application delivery projects.
  • Agile, Scrum or hybrid project delivery methods.
  • Planning, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Advantages to have experiences in:

  • Kubernetes, infrastructure as code or cloud-native architecture.
  • AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI or Model Context Protocol.
  • Managing vendors or system integrators.
  • Cloud, Agile or project management certifications.
  • Design Thinking or Service Design methodologies.
