About the Opportunity
Indicium AI is seeking a strategic AI Software Transformation Director to lead the architectural evolution of software ecosystems within large-scale enterprises. You will operate at the intersection of high-level business strategy and deep technical system design. Acting as the "Architect-in-Chief" for complex portfolios, you will define the blueprint for how organizations adopt and scale agentic AI. You will move beyond individual project delivery to standardize architectural patterns, establish cross-project technical governance, and ensure that AI integration is resilient, compliant, and future-proof across diverse business units. You are the steward of the technical transformation, defining the engineering standards and agentic frameworks that enable an AI-native organization.
Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Architecture Strategy: Orchestrate the technical transformation roadmaps for large, complex organizations, ensuring alignment between AI adoption, regulatory compliance, and high-performance system architecture.

Architectural Standardization & Governance: Define cross-project standards for AI integration, establishing "Golden Patterns" for agentic workflows to ensure architectural consistency across disparate technology stacks.

Agentic Framework Design: Design and institutionalize the engineering frameworks required for scalable AI agent adoption, ensuring robust security, latency optimization, and adherence to enterprise-grade constraints.

Technical Executive Alignment: Advise C-level technology leadership on the long-term technical maturity of their AI-native stack, identifying systemic architectural risks and bottlenecks.

Operational Resilience & Compliance: Establish portfolio-wide guardrails for AI-driven development, ensuring that autonomous systems operate within the boundaries of reliability and data sovereignty relevant to the client’s industry.

Platform Ecosystem Leadership: Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices—such as Spec-Driven Development (SDD)—across the enterprise, standardizing the toolchain for agentic software delivery.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience

10+ years of experience in software architecture and engineering leadership, with a strong focus on complex, high-throughput systems within diverse enterprise environments.

Proven track record of defining and leading enterprise-scale technical transformation projects, successfully navigating the complexities of legacy environments.

Deep expertise in designing large-scale distributed systems, including low-latency data architectures and real-time streaming platforms.

Strong understanding of AI-native engineering principles, including agentic development, model integration, and the architectural implications of non-deterministic systems.

Exceptional executive presence; ability to bridge the gap between abstract corporate strategy and concrete technical execution for C-suite and engineering stakeholders.

Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP) and enterprise compliance frameworks.

Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change in engineering organizations, fostering an environment of technical excellence and continuous innovation.
