1 About Power Flux AI
Power Flux AI is an AI-native power electronics engineering company headquartered in Pune, India. We design, simulate, prototype and productionize high-power motor and inverter systems, from 0.5 kW to 500 kW, on a proprietary AI-driven platform. It compresses traditional 1836 month development cycles into 90 days from concept to prototype.
We work with partners and institutions including IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and ARAI Pune, and our engineering is led by a founder with 35+ years of hands-on power electronics experience.
2 Your opportunity at IIT Madras Incubation, Chennai
Work with us at the IIT Madras Incubation ecosystem in Chennai, close to the Power Electronics Lab and IIT Madras researchers. You will build visuals that engineers use every day, mentored by a team that has shipped real power electronics products.
3 Role overview
High-density PCBs hold 500,000+ geometric entities. Your goal is a smooth, lag-free 60 FPS viewport for navigating complex boards and assemblies in the browser.
4 What you will do
- Build and optimise the browser viewport using React, Three.js and @react-three/fiber.
- Move heavy work (spatial indexing, hit-testing, polygon clipping) to Web Workers and OffscreenCanvas.
- Implement 2D/3D navigation: panning, zooming, rotation, clipping planes and layer isolation.
- Render simulation overlays such as thermal hot-spots and IR-drop gradients on copper traces.
- Help build the frontend for our CSS-selector-style design rule engine.
5 What you bring
Must have
- TypeScript and React, with a project using WebGL, Three.js or Canvas
- Basics of Web Workers and typed arrays (ArrayBuffer, Float32Array)
- Comfort with Chrome DevTools profiling
- Understanding of 2D/3D transforms and raycasting
Good to have
GLSL shaders, WebAssembly, computational geometry (polygon clipping, BVH, R-tree), custom React reconcilers, game engine, CAD or Figma-like canvas experience.
