Akamai Security Engineer - Edge & API Protection (Hybrid)

LuxExperience is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to join the team in Zola Predosa/Milano, Hybrid Italy. You will lead Akamai edge security design and configuration for apps and APIs, ensuring resilience and optimal performance.

You will optimize WAF rules, monitor traffic, and mitigate DDoS/bot threats while collaborating with Dev & Ops. Strong security tooling, automation, and English communication are essential.

Design, provision, and maintain Akamai security configurations for apps and APIs. Tune WAF rules and rate limits to reduce false positives while enforcing security. Identify and mitigate real-time DDoS and bot traffic without affecting legitimate users. Implement security controls for APIs and discover unmanaged endpoints. Collaborate with developers to translate requirements into secure edge configurations. Create technical docs and automation using Akamai CLI, Terraform or APIs. Hands-on Akamai security configuration experience. Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 and API security. Experience analyzing HTTP/S traffic and logs in security contexts.
