WHO WE ARE
Founded in 2013 as Scape Australia, leaders in student housing, we've since grown into a vertically integrated living platform known as The Living Company; managing $17B in assets across Student Living (Scape), Rent to Live – Affordable Housing (RTL Co.), and Retirement Living (Aveo); spanning site origination, investment, planning, design, development, construction, and operations.
The Living Company is reshaping the way Australians live by delivering sustainable, community-driven, and high-quality spaces across the country.
THE ROLE
Ready to build the data foundation that powers decisions for 10,000+ retirement living residents across Australia? As our new Analytics Engineer, you'll be at the centre of a greenfield Snowflake deployment, designing and building the pipelines, models and data products the whole business will run on.
This isn't a maintenance role. You'll shape how data flows from source systems through to Finance, Sales, Marketing and Operations reporting, working directly with stakeholders to understand what they need and translating that into clean, reliable, well-documented dbt models.
Day-to-day you will be (but not limited to):
Contributing to the Snowflake data platform deployment, building out infrastructure from the ground up
Migrating legacy data infrastructure into Snowflake across multiple business domains
Building and maintaining dbt models across bronze, silver, gold and platinum layers, writing clean, tested and well-documented SQL
Building and maintaining data ingestion into Snowflake via Fivetran and Snowpark-based pipelines
Turning raw source data into trusted, analytics-ready data products the business can rely on
Working directly with Finance, CRM and operational teams to gather and refine data requirements
Translating business problems and ambiguous requirements into clear, scalable data solutions
Monitoring and maintaining data pipeline health, troubleshooting issues and ensuring reliability
Contributing to emerging AI data initiatives as the platform matures
Staying close to evolving best practice in the modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran) and bringing new ideas back to the team
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
3–5 years in an Analytics Engineering or similar data engineering role
Background in consulting, professional services, startup or scaleup environments, comfortable moving fast across multiple business domains
Strong SQL and dbt experience, having built and maintained production data models
Hands-on experience with Snowflake
Experience with Fivetran or similar ingestion tooling
Python proficiency, comfortable building scripts and pipelines including Snowpark-based workloads
Comfortable with CI/CD fundamentals, including version control, pull request workflows and automated deployment
Familiarity with data pipeline monitoring and troubleshooting
Self-directed, able to take a brief and drive it to completion without handholding
Experience with data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar), exposure to AI/ML data initiatives, or experience in property, retirement living or similar complex operational environments will be highly regarded
WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?
Be part of a purpose-led organisation shaping how Australians live
Exposure to a large, diversified living platform with real scale and complexity
Strong focus on wellbeing, growth, and inclusive culture
Competitive rewards, recognition programs, and lifestyle benefits
