Application Benchmarking Engineer

Engineer who benchmarks automotive components against competitors using A2MAC1 data, creates reports, and supports design customization for global sales teams.

Position Summary

The Application Benchmarking engineer is responsible to provide benchmarking studies with application design analysis against competitor products using various benchmarking databases like A2MAC1. He/she will support global teams for their requests of benchmarking studies and other market intelligence reports.

Essential Functions

  • Support for design to customize standard products and processes to satisfy unique customer requirements.
  • Utilize A2Mac1 solutions platform to enable Oetiker to unlock key insights and identify critical opportunities and analyze automotive trends.
  • Collect benchmarking reports and data on automotive manufacturers, competitors and marketplace and consolidate information into reports and presentations.
  • Regularly conduct Data Mapping studies for connecting solutions of major Global Automotive OEMs and work closely with Global Sales teams to share benchmarks and recommendations.
  • Review the current market solution by accessing worldwide automotive data to identify smart design, competitor risks, new concepts to highlight the evolutions of technology, packaging, systems, design, and material and share the findings with the team.

Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with 4/5 years of experience in relevant field.

  • Candidate must have a fair knowledge of automotive applications
  • Competent in Computer Aided Design (SolidWorks and AutoCAD)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and database administration tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI (Fabric) and Salesforce
  • Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in the English language
  • Familiarity with general manufacturing practices of metals and plastics
