Application Developer (Financial Services)
Summary
Develop and maintain enterprise workflow apps for a financial-services firm using Java, Spring, Oracle, and IBM MQ, with DevOps and SSO integrations.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise workflow applications and application frameworks within a Financial Services environment.
- Develop and maintain robust backend solutions using Java, Spring Framework, JSON, IBM MQ, and Oracle Database technologies.
- Build reusable application frameworks, components, and services to support enterprise-wide business applications.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, infrastructure teams, and developers to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
- Participate in system analysis, technical design, coding, testing, deployment, and post-production support activities.
- Integrate applications with authentication and authorization services, including Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions.
- Perform application testing, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis to ensure system reliability and stability.
- Support DevOps/DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline implementation, automation, security controls, and release management.
- Work closely with infrastructure teams supporting IBM AIX environments and enterprise middleware platforms.
- Prepare technical documentation, development standards, and best practices for application framework development.
- Provide production support and participate in on-call support rotation to ensure business-critical systems are available and operating effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5-6 years of experience as a Workflow Engineer, Application Developer, or related role within the Financial Services industry.
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Java and Spring Framework.
- Solid experience in application framework development; candidates with predominantly frontend development experience will not be suitable.
- Proven experience working with Oracle Database, including SQL development and performance optimization.
- Experience supporting and developing applications on IBM AIX platforms.
- Hands-on experience with IBM MQ, JSON, and enterprise application integration technologies.
- Practical experience implementing and supporting DevOps/DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO), authentication, authorization, and application security controls.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, system integration testing, and production support processes.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support arrangements.
- Fluent in both Cantonese and English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
