About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Application Engineer (AE) with strong software, firmware, and system validation capabilities to support SparkGrid Optical DSP products and platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop a deep understanding of SparkGrid Optical DSP, photonics, and system solutions.
· Perform system bring-up, validation, and characterization of ODSP-based platforms, evaluation boards, and optical communication systems.
· Develop scripts and tools (Python, Tcl, Bash) for automation, regression testing, data collection, and system analysis.
· Support product evaluations, interoperability testing, and proof-of-concept activities.
· Debug system-level issues involving software, firmware, hardware, optical modules, and high-speed communication links.
· Analyze BER, link performance, eye quality, equalization behavior, and system stability metrics.
· Work with low-level registers, firmware interfaces, APIs, and diagnostic tools.
· Reproduce customer-reported issues in the laboratory environment and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve them.
· Generate technical documentation, application notes, troubleshooting guides, and validation reports.
· Support FAE and sales teams with technical expertise during customer evaluations and design-in activities.
· Maintain and improve validation infrastructure, debug methodologies, and automation frameworks.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Communications Engineering, or related fields.
· 3+ years of experience in application engineering, system validation, embedded software development, product engineering, or technical support.
· Strong hands-on experience in system-level debugging and software/firmware validation.
· Understanding of digital hardware and high-speed communication systems.
