Application Engineer - AMI
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the end to end solutions and provision of technical leadership to ensure compliance with security, scalability, flexibility, maintainability and other non functional requirements.
- Responsible for articulating the architectural vision, conceptualizing and experimenting with alternative architectural approaches, creating models and component and interface specification documents, and validating the architecture against requirements and assumptions.
- Be the technical interface to suppliers and customers during phases of a project and coordinate with the KM relative department on all technical issues related to AMI operation and maintenance.
- Presentation of complex technical solutions to both technical and non technical audiences.
- Continuously expand knowledge and specialization of technology, design patterns and products.
- Review designers, recommend development, identify and understand technical opportunities, constraints and issues with a solution given existing components in place.
- IT strategic development and planning, portfolio management and future expansion directions.
- Coordinate the planning, design, and installation of equipment in an industrial environment, using knowledge of engineering and programming, as well as sophisticated instruments and computers.
- Data migration and system integration.
- Gather requirements, write specifications and test plans.
- Perform other related duties as needed upon request by the immediate supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
- Minimum eight years' experience, with at least two years in application/software/solution architecture engineering.
- Development experience in C#, Java and MySQL database.
- Experience with serial interfaces (RS232, SPI) and embedded firmware in C.
- Experience with ZigBee, WiFi, Z Wave applications.
- Previous support and FAE experience.
- Experience with a bug tracking system.
