Application Operations Manager (Core Insurance Systems)

Salary: ฿100,000 – ฿130,000 per month

About the Role & Opportunity

Cathcart Technology is partnering with a well-established insurance company in Bangkok. They are looking for an Application Operations Manager to lead the stability and continuous improvement of their core insurance applications. The role is hands-on and covers application operations, incident leadership, vendor and budget management, and team development. It also supports the function’s growth in cloud and data capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Running day-to-day application operations and production support for core insurance systems, keeping them stable, performant and continuously improving

• Leading incident management end to end, from technical escalations to root cause analysis and long-term resolution

• Overseeing application releases, configuration changes and deployment practices to minimise downtime and business impact

• Monitoring application and database performance and driving improvements with internal teams and vendors

• Partnering with development teams and external vendors on integrations, upgrades and handovers into production

• Supporting Azure-hosted workloads and the move towards modern data services

• Managing vendor relationships, SLAs, contracts and the department budget

• Leading and developing an application operations team, building capability across the team

• Contributing to the application architecture direction and roadmap with senior IT leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

• 10+ years of experience in application operations, application support or IT operations, including team leadership

• Proven experience leading incident management for business-critical production systems

• Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure, production support and databases

• Experience managing vendors, budgets and technical teams

• Strong stakeholder communication skills, including working with regional counterparts

• Insurance experience is highly preferred; candidates from financial services or related industries are welcome

• Cloud, Security or ITIL certifications are an advantage

• Good communication skills in Thai and English
