Application Support Analyst

Location: Work is what you do, not where you go. For this role, we are open to remote work anywhere in Germany.

About the Opportunity
As demand for our Dayforce Human Capital Management (HCM) solution continues to grow, we are expanding our German Payroll Support team.
We are looking for a technically minded, analytical, and customer-focused Application Support Analyst with a strong background in German Payroll. In this role, you will join a highly collaborative team supporting some of our largest customers while working closely with Product & Technology to continuously improve the Dayforce Payroll solution.
This role goes beyond traditional application support. You will combine technical analysis, payroll expertise, and customer focus to investigate complex issues, identify product improvements, and proactively help customers maintain compliant payroll processes.

What you’ll get to do
As an Application Support Analyst - German Payroll, you will provide technical and functional support for Dayforce Payroll customers and collaborate closely with Payroll Administrators, HR teams, IT departments, Managed Services, Services, Global Support, and Product & Technology.
Your responsibilities will include:

Investigating and resolving complex German Payroll incidents.
Performing root cause analysis using SQL, database queries, and reporting tools.
Supporting customers with payroll-related product functionality and configuration questions.
Identifying, reproducing, documenting, and validating product defects while working closely with Product & Technology to drive permanent resolutions.
Supporting German statutory payroll functionality, including topics such as DEÜV, ELStAM, EEL, A1, Accident Insurance, Garnishments, and Payroll Elections.
Performing technical data analysis to support customers, Managed Services, and Product & Technology.
Developing proactive customer health checks by identifying missing or inconsistent payroll data before it impacts payroll processing.
Building SQL queries, reports, and dashboards to support complex customer investigations.
Working with Power BI and other reporting tools to identify trends, recurring customer issues, and opportunities for product improvements.
Creating and maintaining customer-facing documentation and Knowledge Base articles.
Contributing to continuous improvements of support processes and the overall customer experience.
Sharing knowledge with colleagues and helping to further develop the team's expertise.

Skills/Experience We Value:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Informatics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Solid experience with German Payroll and German payroll legislation.
Strong understanding of German statutory payroll processes (e.g., DEÜV, ELStAM, EEL, AAG/U1/U2, A1, Accident Insurance).
Fluent written and spoken German and English.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical application support, payroll support, or software support.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a passion for solving complex technical and functional problems.
Experience working with SQL and relational databases for troubleshooting and data analysis.
Ability to analyse business processes across multiple systems.
Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an on-call rotation when required.

Experience supporting Dayforce Payroll or another HCM/Payroll application.
Experience performing SQL-based data analysis and root cause investigations.
Experience with Power BI, reporting, or data visualization tools.
Experience developing or maintaining SQL queries, reports, or analytical solutions.
Experience with APIs or other integration technologies.
Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server technologies.
Experience with scripting or automation technologies (e.g., PowerShell).
Experience creating customer-facing technical documentation or Knowledge Base articles.
Experience working directly with Development or Product teams to reproduce, analyse, and validate software defects.
Additional language skills (e.g., French or Spanish) are considered an asset.
