Compensation
Salary Range: $49.07 - $72.26 per hour
The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range.

Responsibilities
Position Overview:
As a mid-level contributor on the Information Systems team, the Application Systems Analyst II – Research applies subject matter expertise to assigned applications and workflows, with primary responsibility for supporting the organization’s growing clinical research program. This position provides moderate to complex application support, system validation, configuration, workflow and process mapping, reporting, data management, training, and coordination of application enhancements.
Working collaboratively with clinical, operational, research, revenue cycle, and technical stakeholders, the Application Systems Analyst II supports the development and optimization of scalable technology solutions and standardized workflows for clinical research. This position serves as a liaison between technical and operational stakeholders, supports the continued growth of the clinical research program, and provides support for other assigned applications and operational areas as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Three (3) years of Health Information Technology (HIT) experience
- Three (3) years of application support, workflow analysis, project involvement, and integrated solutions development and analysis
- ITIL Foundation Certification, or must obtain within six (6) months from hire date
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience supporting healthcare applications, including Epic Research (ERM), Epic ClinDoc, Epic CPOE, Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), and related clinical or research systems.
- Experience with ServiceNow and process modeling tools such as Visio
- Workflow and process mapping experience
- Fluency with Microsoft Office 365
- Knowledge of clinical research workflows, including:
- Study administration and participant enrollment
- Research coordinator workflows and tools
- Research billing review and compliance processes
- Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS)
- Research dashboards, reporting, and data analysis
- Study feasibility, recruitment, and participant tracking
- Experience collaborating with clinical, operational, research, and revenue cycle stakeholders
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provides excellent customer service through SME-level application support across assigned modules, with primary responsibility for applications and workflows supporting clinical research.
- Escalates appropriately, following SLA and support protocols.
- Uses the ITSM platform ServiceNow for daily ticket management.
- Acts independently or within a team to complete project tasks, including projects supporting the development and expansion of clinical research systems and workflows.
- Coordinates and executes testing for enhancements and fixes.
- Drafts and refines functional specifications and documentation.
- Mentors Application Systems Analysts I in best practices and workflow support.
- Leads operational readiness tasks and documentation updates.
- Participates in cross-functional collaborations for change management, partnering with clinical, operational, research, revenue cycle, and technical stakeholders.
- Documents and analyzes workflow and system usage to identify optimization opportunities, including clinical research workflows related to study administration, participant enrollment, research coordinator activities, study feasibility, recruitment, and participant tracking.
- Supports configuration changes and minor enhancement builds for assigned applications, including clinical research and related systems.
- Tracks and reports on application issues, trends, and improvements.
- Assists with user-facing data and reporting tools, including specifying custom data requests and supporting research dashboards, reporting, and data analysis.
- Demonstrates sound judgment, critical thinking, and collaborative relationship building.
- Provides application and workflow support for clinical research systems and related applications, including Epic Research (ERM), Epic ClinDoc, Epic CPOE, CTMS, and other assigned systems.
- Supports clinical research billing review and compliance-related system processes and workflows.
- Provides training, guidance, and ongoing application support to clinical research coordinators and other assigned end users.
- Supports the development, standardization, and optimization of scalable application solutions and workflows to meet the operational needs and continued growth of the clinical research program.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
