Architect with site experience, fixed term contract 2-3 months

Studio PDP is hiring an Architect with Stage 4 & 5 site experience for a 2-3 month fixed-term contract at its London Victoria practice. The role involves coordinating consultant and subcontractor packages on hospitality, residential and mixed-use (often listed building) projects, producing detailed construction information and running site inspections using Revit or AutoCAD.
You will have an opportunity to join our creative team working on some exciting landmark projects in listed buildings.
- Providing excellent design skills, technical advice and robust and cost effective solutions to meet clients’ needs and achieve client satisfaction
- Production of detailed construction information to high and regulations compliant standard
- Helping produce and deliver the project's deliverables under the guidance of the team leader
- Carrying out site visual inspections and site log visit reports alongside other members of the team.
- Meeting, briefing and discussing project requirements and constraints with consultants and dealing with queries, compliance and commenting on information supplied by others, and revising the technical information ensuring it is up to date
- Working within a team with other architects, architectural technologists, and assistants
- Working closely with contractors, other consultants and design team members
- Communicating with the senior members of the team on job progress
- Overseeing and coordinating junior members of the team
- Site experience at Stage 4 & 5 - this is an essential requirement
- Post-Part III qualification experience
- Strong design and drawing skills with the ability to produce detailed drawings
- Revit and AutoCAD skills and fluency in Microsoft and Adobe packages
- Knowledge of Fire Safety regulations
- Ability to demonstrate construction knowledge
- Experience of collaborating with site and project managers.
- Experience of successfully working on complex projects
- Expertise in construction drawings and construction details
- Strong knowledge of codes, practice standards, and industry expectations
- Proficient working knowledge of UK legal and statutory regulations and processes
- Experience and knowledge of contract administration and legal issues and ability to undertake relevant requirements
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Confidence liaising with contractors and other consultants to a professional and courteous manner
- Waterproofing experience would be advantageous
- Understanding of low energy design, PassivHaus and retrofit would be advantageous.
