Area Sales Manager
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Area Director of Sales & Marketing, the Area Sales Manager is responsible for moving the market share from our competitors and uncovering new business opportunities. Through effective relationship building and account management, they will deliver the highest levels of guest service and ensure ongoing client satisfaction. This position offers a unique opportunity to represent two complementary San Francisco hotel products, allowing the successful candidate to expand their sales expertise, develop a broader client portfolio, and strategically match customer needs to the appropriate property
ABOUT THE PROPERTIES:
Hotel Zoe Fisherman’s Wharf
Hotel Zoe Fisherman’s Wharf is a full-service boutique hotel located in the heart of San Francisco’s iconic Fisherman’s Wharf at 425 North Point Street. The hotel provides guests with easy access to Pier 39, the waterfront, Alcatraz departures, cable cars, North Beach, and other major San Francisco attractions. Hotel Zoe features 221 guestrooms and suites, an on-site restaurant and bar, Pescatore, and approximately 3,200+ square feet of flexible meeting and event space. The property appeals to leisure travelers, corporate travelers, small groups, meetings, social events, and guests seeking a boutique San Francisco experience.
The Barnes San Francisco
The Barnes San Francisco, Tapestry Collection by Hilton is a historic boutique hotel located at 225 Powell Street in the heart of Union Square. Its central location provides convenient access to shopping, dining, theaters, public transportation, the Financial District, and many of San Francisco's major business and leisure attractions. The Barnes 190 rooms combines historic character with a contemporary urban hotel experience and offers guestrooms and suites, an on-site restaurant and bar, fitness amenities, and meeting and event spaces designed for business meetings, private events, and small-to-medium-sized groups.
Position and Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute proactive sales strategies to increase revenue and market share for both Hotel Zoe and The Barnes.
- Achieve the financial objectives of the property in their managed area for market segments actively being worked.
- Works collaboratively with the sales team to ensure sales efforts are coordinated and not duplicated.
- Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
- Generate new business through proactive sales calls, networking, prospecting, and client visits.
- Manage sales efforts for two hotel properties while maximizing revenue opportunities across both hotels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate accounts, travel managers, meeting planners, government agencies, and third-party partners.
- Conduct outside sales appointments, site inspections, hotel tours, and client entertainment.
- Negotiate contracts and rates in accordance with hotel revenue strategies.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and production goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and local association meetings.
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and inventory strategies.
- Partner with hotel operations to ensure successful execution of group programs and exceptional guest experiences.
- Prepare weekly sales activity reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.
- Participate in sales meetings and leadership meetings as required.
- Travel between both hotel properties and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area to meet clients.
- Handling and resolving customer complaints regarding a product or service.
- Executes and supports operational aspects of business booked (i.e. generate proposal, writing contracts, and customer correspondence)
- Marketing teams to promote initiatives.
- Submit weekly activity reports.
- Initiate and execute agreements on the company's behalf in alignment with the property's standards.
Job Requirements and Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of hotel sales experience, preferably in a full service, boutique, or lifestyle hotel environment.
- Multi-property sales experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the San Francisco hospitality market.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage competing deadlines.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.

Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, the Area Sales Manager may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Hotel, including but not limited to weekends and holidays.
Salary Range: $90k-$100k + Incentive Program
