Summary

Provides art therapy to children in a clinical setting, assessing needs, collaborating on care plans, and documenting progress while maintaining supplies and equipment.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm | Job Location Type: In Person

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates patient focus and strives to exceed patient/family expectations for customer service.
  • Provides professional art psychotherapy treatment/services to individuals and groups.
  • Utilizes observation skills at the clinical professional level to assess patient’s level of functioning both individually and in group activities.
  • May complete art therapy assessment(s) as requested.
  • Interviews patients and assesses their functional level according to professional standards.
  • Collaborates with treatment team to develop a safe & therapeutic plan of care.
  • Identifies and delivers services according to patient specific needs, diagnosis and population.
  • Provides consultation, instruction, and direction to other clinical staff, students and volunteers.
  • Completes documentation of initial patient screen/assessment and ongoing treatment /progress in compliance with hospital and program standards.
  • Completes all documentation so that it is accurate, complete, timely, and in accordance with Hospital & program standards.
  • Reports pertinent observations to appropriate team members.
  • Selects and maintains supplies and equipment which support a variety of appropriate treatment concepts and are geared to patients’ skills, creativity levels, and ages.

    The pay range for this position is $46,790 minimum - $90,195 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.

    Requirements:

    • Work requires the completion of a Master's degree in Art Therapy from an accredited college or university. Depending on assignment, may be required to have education/training specific to age and diagnosis of patient population.
    • Work requires possession of a Maryland State license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist (LCPAT) at the time of appointment and continuously while in the position.
    • Work requires two to three years of relevant work experience, including experience with the specific patient population served by the assigned program/unit.
