Assistant Design Manager
Summary
Oversee construction design workflows in Singapore, coordinating architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure compliant, buildable plans using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the design process throughout all project phases, from concept development to construction completion.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth design integration.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
- Manage design submissions, approvals, and revisions with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts using value engineering and practical construction solutions.
- Ensure designs comply with Singapore building regulations, codes, and project specifications.
- Monitor design progress and ensure deliverables are completed within project timelines.
- Support project teams during construction by providing technical guidance and resolving design-related issues.
- Attend design coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action plans.
- Maintain effective communication among internal departments and external consultants.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in the Singapore construction industry.
- Experience managing design coordination for commercial, residential, industrial, or institutional projects.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore building regulations, BCA requirements, and construction standards.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and project collaboration platforms is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Design & Build (D&B) projects.
- Knowledge of Green Mark requirements will be an advantage.
- BIM certification or relevant professional qualifications are preferred.
