The Assistant Hotel Manager reports to and collaborates with the Hotel Operations Manager to set the tone for the front-of-house and back-of-house guest experience of The Cromwell. This integral role assists in leading the hotel departments (Front Office, Front Services, Housekeeping, Environmental Services and Wardrobe) by example, ensuring that no need goes unmet and no opportunity to make a guest visit special is missed.
- Assist in leading hotel operations to deliver exceptional guest and team member experiences.
- Support the day-to-day management of hotel operations while helping achieve long-term operational and service goals.
- Maintain a strong understanding of all hotel division functions and provide hands-on operational support as needed.
- Partner with hotel leadership to ensure consistent delivery of outstanding guest service and a positive, high-performing team culture.
- Actively engage with guests and team members by maintaining a visible presence throughout the property, including the lobby, guest room floors, casino areas, front desk, and other operational areas.
- Monitor service standards, address operational challenges, and take proactive action to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by working alongside team members and supporting operational success through coaching, guidance, and leadership.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and urgency while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Solicit, evaluate, and act on guest and team member feedback to continuously improve services, processes, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all departmental, property, and corporate policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Strong knowledge of hotel operations and guest service standards.
- Ability to lead and support teams in delivering exceptional guest and team member experiences.
- Ability to balance daily operational demands with long-term business objectives.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and multi-tasking environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Presence should be as regular in the lobby, guest room on floors, throughout the casino area and at the front desk as it is in the office.
- Hands-on leadership style with a willingness to work alongside team members.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain a visible presence throughout the property and engage with guests and team members.
- Ability to receive feedback, adapt, and drive continuous operational improvement.
- Must comply with all departmental, property, and company policies and procedures.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience working with property management systems such as Opera, Infor, REX, and/or LMS.
- Proven track record of effectively communicating and presenting information to corporate and property leadership.
