Assistant Manager, Design & Marketing Services (7 months)
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) is a statutory body established in 1966 to promote, assist and develop Hong Kong's trade. With 51 offices globally, including 13 in the Chinese Mainland, the HKTDC promotes Hong Kong as a two-way global investment and business hub.
The HKTDC organises international exhibitions, conferences and business missions to create business opportunities for companies, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in the mainland and international markets. The HKTDC also provides up-to-date market insights and product information via research reports and digital news channels.

We are seeking a dynamic, high-calibre and experienced marketing professional to join our Team.
The appointee will be responsible for organising HKTDC’s marketing/promotional programs and activities for promoting the Design & Marketing Services sectors, including:
- Support Section Head in planning and delivering HKTDC design, marketing and creative industry projects, including conferences and exhibitions;
- Develop and curate event programme and content strategies to ensure relevance, industry impact and participant engagement;
- Drive business development initiatives by recruiting quality exhibitors, sponsors and buyers to participate in HKTDC exhibition and conference;
- Manage project execution and coordinate with internal teams, contractors, agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely delivery of the exhibitions;
- Oversee event logistics and operational arrangements, including venue planning, exhibition setup and schedules;
- Liaise with stakeholders and curators to ensure smooth delivery of the specially curated zones of the events;
- Monitor project budgets, timelines and resources, ensuring effective cost control and smooth project delivery;
- Arrange and manage Business Matching Meetings or networking events to facilitate business collaborations among exhibitors, stakeholders, VIPs and buyers;
- Perform other project-related and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A recognised university degree with at least 10 years’ solid working experience, preferably with sizeable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building etc.;
- Good understanding of Hong Kong’s economy, trade and business arena covering key industries and markets as well as opportunities and challenges of SMEs;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language will be an advantage;
- A strong team player with excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills;
- Self-motivated and detail-minded with good project management ability;
- Outgoing and be appreciate to work with people of different cultures;
- Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressures;
- Willing to work overtime and on weekends or public holidays as necessary.
Remuneration and Benefits:
The successful candidate will be appointed on a fixed-term contract basis, renewable subject to operational needs. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
