POSITION | Assistant Programme Manager (Teaching Assistant)

Purpose

The Teaching Associate / Academic Program Mentor (APM) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the student learning experience through tutorials, mentoring, academic coordination, and experiential learning support. The role focuses on enabling student success by supporting classroom learning, conducting tutorials, mentoring students individually and in groups, and preparing students for competitions, industry engagements, simulations, and external events.

The Teaching Associate acts as a bridge between faculty, students, and academic operations to ensure an engaging, application-oriented, and high-quality learning environment.

Responsibilities

Tutorials & Academic Support

  • Conduct tutorials, doubt-clearing sessions, practice discussions, and revision sessions to reinforce classroom learning.
  • Support faculty in delivering application-oriented learning experiences through case discussions, simulations, workshops, and guided exercises.
  • Assist students in understanding concepts, assignments, projects, and assessment expectations.
  • Monitor student participation, learning progress, and engagement levels across courses.

Student Mentoring & Development

  • Mentor students on academic performance, learning habits, professional development, and campus engagement.
  • Provide individualized academic guidance and track student progress through regular interactions.
  • Support students in identifying strengths, improvement areas, and developmental goals.
  • Act as a first point of contact for resolving student academic concerns and coordinating support where required.

Competitions, Events & Experiential Learning

  • Prepare and mentor students for external competitions, business contests, case challenges, hackathons, conferences, and academic events.
  • Coordinate student participation in inter-university events, industry competitions, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Facilitate practice sessions, presentation reviews, mock rounds, and feedback discussions for student teams.
  • Encourage students to participate in co-curricular and experiential activities that enhance learning outcomes.

Classroom & Learning Experience Management

  • Ensure readiness of tutorials, classroom activities, learning materials, and LMS content in coordination with faculty.
  • Support smooth classroom operations and maintain consistency in student learning experiences across sections.
  • Assist in maintaining attendance, assignment tracking, assessment coordination, and communication through LMS platforms.
  • Create a supportive, engaging, and academically rigorous learning environment.

Academic Coordination & Faculty Support

  • Coordinate with faculty for session planning, teaching support, academic material management, and tutorial scheduling.
  • Support visiting and full-time faculty in classroom coordination and student engagement initiatives.
  • Facilitate communication between faculty, students, and academic offices to ensure seamless program delivery.
  • Coordinate with faculty for session planning, tutorial execution, assessments, and student engagement initiatives.
  • Assist visiting and full-time faculty with classroom coordination, scheduling, logistics, and academic support.
  • Support faculty in managing student communication, assignment tracking, and classroom processes.


Assessment & Evaluation Support

  • Support the coordination of quizzes, assignments, presentations, evaluations, and examination processes.
  • Assist faculty in maintaining quality, fairness, and timely completion of assessment-related activities.
  • Track student performance trends and help identify students requiring additional academic support.

Academic Technology & LMS Management

  • Manage and support the effective use of LMS and other academic technologies for tutorials, attendance, assessments, content sharing, and communication.
  • Promote digital learning practices and ensure timely updating of academic information on LMS platforms.

Institutional Collaboration & Supporting overall Programme Coordination

  • Work closely with academic leadership to strengthen student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to improving tutorial systems, mentoring frameworks, and experiential learning initiatives.
  • Identify academic or operational challenges affecting student learning and proactively support solutions aligned with the university’s vision and culture.
  • Support the planning and execution of workshops, guest sessions, immersion activities, industry visits, and academic events.
  • Ensure timely communication and coordination among faculty, students, and academic offices.
  • Monitor operational readiness for classes, tutorials, assessments, and program-related activities.
  • Assist in maintaining academic records, attendance, course documentation, and operational trackers.
  • Support compliance with institutional academic processes, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Coordinating with various other departments within university for other tasks and activities such as placements, learners experience, Registrar Office, Examination Office, Venture Studio, etc.


Qualifications & Experience

· 1–5 years of experience in teaching assistance, academic operations, student engagement, mentoring, training, program coordination, or related roles.

· Strong inclination toward teaching, mentoring, and working closely with students in a learning-oriented environment.

· Ability to manage academic operations while maintaining high standards of student engagement and learning support.

· Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

· Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

· Proactive problem-solving mindset and operational ownership attitude.

· Bachelor’s degree in any discipline required; Master’s degree preferred.

· Familiarity with MS Office, LMS, academic tools, or digital learning platforms is preferred.

· Experience in preparing students for competitions, events, projects, or experiential learning activities will be an added advantage.
