Assistant Project Manager

An Astoria based General Contracting firm is currently seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager (APM). An APM is to assist in managing new construction residential projects, performing work for government agencies, not for profit organizations, commercial clients and private owners. Our projects vary from building large multifamily residential buildings, to complex modernizations of subway stations and renovations of existing buildings.

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing subcontracts, bid documents and proposals
  • Assisting with the preparation of change orders, schedules, and RFIs
  • Recording project documents and correspondence between client, architect and subcontractors
  • Managing submittals
  • Coordinate meetings with clients, architects, site supers, subs, vendors, and project managers
  • Maintain drawing log

Required skills:

  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Proficiency with programs from Microsoft office such as but not limited:
    • Word
    • Excel
    • PowerPoint
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Able to read architectural plans proficiently
  • Proactive and must have problem solving skills
  • Professional and be able to work with all trades, architects and clients
  • Great organization skill
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Procore experience preferred

Education & Experience:

  • Construction Management experience and/or Engineering Degree

Location: Astoria, Queens (Required travel within NYC)
