Assistant Sales Manager - China Market

JW Marriott Jeju is seeking a highly motivated and commercially driven Assistant Manager – Sales (China Market Specialist) to support the development of the Greater China market. This role is responsible for driving luxury leisure revenue through key travel partners and luxury consortia, strengthening relationships with stakeholders in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan, and serving as the hotel's market specialist for Greater China.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of the luxury travel segment, excellent communication skills in Mandarin Chinese, and the ability to provide market intelligence and strategic insights that support business growth and guest satisfaction.

Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, this role serves as the hotel's market specialist for Greater China, providing market intelligence, supporting strategic business development initiatives, and ensuring seamless coordination for VIP guests from the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Support & Business Development

  • Support the development of room revenue opportunities from the Greater China market.
  • Maintain positive relationships with travel agencies, luxury travel advisors, wholesalers, and travel industry partners.
  • Assist in identifying potential business opportunities and supporting market outreach activities.
  • Participate in sales calls, trade shows, roadshows, familiarization trips, and client events as assigned.
  • Work closely with the Director of Sales and hotel teams to support market development efforts.

Market Insight & Account Management

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities within the Greater China market.
  • Assist in preparing sales reports, account updates, and market insights.
  • Maintain accurate account information and client communication records.
  • Support the implementation of market-specific sales initiatives and promotional activities.

VIP Guest Experience Support

  • Assist in coordinating VIP guest arrivals and special requests for guests from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
  • Work closely with operational departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Support communication between hotel teams and Mandarin-speaking guests when needed.
  • Help facilitate guest feedback follow-up and service recovery efforts.
  • Ensure travel partner guests receive appropriate recognition and personalized service.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of hotel sales, guest relations, or hospitality experience.
  • Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).
  • Good English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Passion for luxury hospitality and guest service.

Preferred

  • Experience working with the China outbound travel market.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality or international hotel brands.
  • Familiarity with travel agencies, luxury travel advisors, or consortia programs is a plus.
  • Previous Marriott experience is advantageous but not required.
