As the 2nd Shift Assistant Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the 2nd Shift Supervisor in managing production operations through proper employee training, efficient planning, staging a work-to-production schedule, and effective assignment of work ensuring production orders are completed within our quality specifications and on time. The right candidate will provide leadership, guidance, and assistant supervision of employees. This person will contribute through value-added activities in quality improvement, efficiency enhancement, and process improvement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintaining a safe environment for all employees and ensuring everyone is working safely
• Addressing safety concerns in a timely and effective manner
• Assists the Supervisor with the overall direction, coordination, and daily operation of the Maintenance department across second shift.
• Staging work to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective processing of orders
• Identifying ways to improve work methods and implementing those changes
• Ensuring work areas are well-organized, tools and fixtures are working properly, and areas are free of safety hazards
• Training and cross-training both new and existing employees
• Understanding and applying company policies consistently
• Performing quality assurance checks throughout the department
• Other duties and project work as assigned
