BACKGROUNDS WE WELCOME
Strong candidates arrive from different environments:
- Systems administrators who moved into AWS — you came up managing Windows or Linux, you've been running AWS workloads for 2+ years, and that foundation makes you effective at diagnosing issues across the full stack.
- AWS engineers from smaller teams — you may have worn several hats rather than specializing, and you've owned infrastructure end to end.
- Software or application engineers who shifted into infrastructure — you've spent recent years on IaC, deployment, and operations rather than feature work.
- AWS engineers with Windows Server and Active Directory depth — part of our environment runs on Windows.
Preferred Qualifications (Any of these would be a plus.)
- Exposure to multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and/or Control Tower.
- Experience with cloud governance, cost optimization, and security controls.
- Foundational awareness of AWS Generative AI services (such as Amazon Bedrock) and their cost implications.
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning within AWS.
- Microsoft certification/s and/or experience supporting Windows workloads in cloud.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience accepted in place of a degree).
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Able to participate in monthly IT maintenance and Development team code promotions (off-hours and weekends).
- Weekly On-call, rotation is every 6 weeks.
