Brief Job Description:
Provides foundational technical and project estimation support to PurgeRite Engineering. This role leads scope validation, supports the Engineering Team through performing basic mechanical/fluid system modeling, document preparation, and research tasks. The Associate Engineer ensures accurate and timely deliverables while escalating any ambiguous or conflicting nonstandard requirements to senior team members or the Supervisor.

Responsibilities:
Prepare Engineer Estimate Packages:
• Identify Mechanical drawings and save into a “_markup.pdf” file

- Delete any ductwork or controls sheets and move P&ID sheets to top of the markup file
- Set page labels to the sheet name if not already set by the customer (Document>Create Page Labels>Page Region)

• Save a .xls copy of the EE template into the estimate folder and the Fill out the top section with Project details
• Review Division 23 (at least 232113 and 232500) and any other customer supplied specs (like playbooks, or just emailed procedures) to identify the relevant specs and save snap shots to the “Reference” tab in the EE. Fill out the spec section of the EE with the information identified.
• Identify the pipe material
• Identify and annotate the pipe size and 3FPS velocity at all Supply/Return connections using Bluebeam REVU.
• Provide engineering research, scope validation and change order support for PSE group
• Assists in documenting team tools, standards, technical knowledge, and team policies and procedures.

Review Flush Reports:
• Review draft reports for compliance with standards (both report standards and flushing standards)
• Correct identified errors such as format, calculation errors, or punctuation.
• Markup any required corrections and return to originator for updates.

• Identifies customer needs through communication and probing.
• Creates solutions to customer problems. Provide sound recommendations to their queries. Provides resolution the first time.
• Assists customers in handling, servicing, follow-up, communication, and closure of issues.
• Completes workload on time. Monitors if requests are processed in a timely manner.
• Implements error-proofing method to ensure all requests are processed accurately.
• Participates in conferences calls, meetings, and discussions with customers.
• Adheres to shift schedules and attendance expectations to ensure consistent support to customers and a balanced workload for peers
• Coordinates with other teams/support to complete the request of customers

Qualifications:
Required/ Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (or similar technical education) with working knowledge of hydronic system construction drawings and specifications..
• At least 1 year of professional experience in the field of mechanical/cooling servicing or construction. Experience in technical pre‑sales, bidding and quotations, or quantity surveying is an advantage but not required.
• Familiarity with basic fluid and thermal concepts (pressure, flow, friction loss, pump curves, etc) is preferred.
• Willingness and ability to learn cooling systems fundamentals, quotation processes, and modeling tools through structured training.
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to follow procedures, and readiness to collaborate as part of a team.
• Good technical and business writing skills to clearly document work, prepare written communications, and support quotation and team processes.
• Proficient in Blue Beam and Microsoft Office Applications.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of managing assigned tasks and meeting deadlines under supervision.
• Excellent written English (preferred)
• Good verbal communication skills (preferred) – Has a good command of the English language and can convey information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to explain “how do things work” in a clear and simple way
• Detail-minded and proactive in doing research (plus)
• Highly organized with good coordination skills
• Effective working with teammates and POCs.
