Associate Frontend Engineer

Blue Oak Consulting is seeking an Associate Frontend Engineer to build data-driven interfaces that transform complex economic models into clear digital tools. You will work with analysts and senior principals to bring financial findings to life within a distributed, fully remote team.

The role emphasizes prototyping for client engagements and maintaining an internal toolkit, with a focus on clean, well-documented code and clear communication in a remote setting.

Developing and maintaining interactive web interfaces that visualize complex financial datasets for our major Italian partner. Translating static economic models and spreadsheets into responsive, functional web components. Collaborating with senior developers to implement clean, well-documented code in a remote environment. Ensuring data visualizations accurately represent underlying financial logic without unnecessary complexity. Participating in regular code reviews to ensure consistency and reliability across internal tools. Testing interfaces for usability and performance to handle large volumes of financial information. Working closely with the consulting team to understand client questions to answer. Troubleshooting technical issues and refining existing features based on feedback from principals. A degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or related field (or equivalent practical project experience). Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular. Interest in how businesses work and understanding the financial logic behind the software you build. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members in plain English. Disciplined, accurate, detail-oriented work approach. Comfort working in a fully remote setting and managing your own schedule. Investigative mindset and curiosity about why a system or code behaves as it does.
