Associate (Landscape Architect)
Summary
An Associate Landscape Architect leads multiple landscape projects from creative concept and schematic design through design development and construction documentation, using AutoCAD, the Adobe suite, SketchUp, and rendering tools. They also handle local authority submissions/compliance, mentor junior staff, and support bids and proposals.
· Possess MLA, BLA or similar related qualificationswith talents in creative design and graphic communications. Similarprofessional background in architecture may be considered.
· Strong and proven talent and capability in creativeConcept and Planning design and being able to present compellingly andconfidently.
· Proven local experience and skills in SchematicDesign, and in putting together complete Design Development and ConstructionDocumentation packages.
· Have sound technical knowledge and be very familiarwith local authority compliances and agency initiatives, submissions andrequirements including landscape replacements, Green Mark, etc.
· Possess a good command of English and be clear in communicationswith Clients, Consultants and Contractors in all project activities.
· Always represent the office professionally andrespect all Client and collaborating groups as well as individuals of differentseniority and culture, including co-workers.
· Work closely with the Directors and Associates inensuring that project milestones and billing targets are met.
· Lead a number of projects simultaneously, workingindependently, organizing teams/tasks clearly to respond to project briefs, schedulesand milestones.
· Proficient in Autodesk (AutoCAD) with skills inAdobe (Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.) and Sketchup, to generate,communicate, and document project outputs. Skills in Enscape, Lumion or othergraphic software and, a working knowledge of Revit would be an added advantage.
· Be approachable and mentor younger staff while maintainingactive participation in professional/staff development.
· Always remain focused and not be distracted bysocial media during office hours.
· Support the Directors and other Associates in thesubmission of competition bids and project proposals.
· Must possess a proactive and positive personality andoutlook and be able to organize, motivate and lead others.
· Be able to manage difficult situationsdiplomatically and always remain calm and even-tempered.
· Strong knowledge of all local authorityrequirements and initiatives eg LRA, Green Plot ratio, Design for Safety, etc
· Ten (10) year’s post graduate full time workexperience in landscape architectural projects is required, with proven local constructiondocumentation and implementation experience.
