Job description
The successful candidate will have expertise in molecular and cellular mechanisms of brain development and neuropsychiatric disorders, with particular focus on identifying pathological mechanisms in neurodevelopmental disorders. You will conduct as well as supervise research on how neuronal circuitry is affected in brain disorders in animal models. For this you will implement advanced approaches such as single-cell transcriptomics together with in vivo circuit manipulation and other functional analysis to validate readouts.

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.

- Research-based teaching, including associated examination
- Research leadership, including guidance and supervision of researchers
- Obligation to share knowledge with the rest of society, including participation in public debate

- Strong research profile within neurodevelopment, and neuropsychiatric disease mechanisms, including publications in leading journals in senior roles.
- Ability to derive strong mechanistic insights linking defined neuron types with behavioural impairments in mouse models of psychiatric disorders.
- Ability to secure external funding and establish independent research directions
- Contributions to interdisciplinary collaborations and international research networks
- Research qualifications at the level that can be achieved by satisfactorily completing a period of employment as an assistant professor/postdoc, but may also be obtained in other ways
- Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies
- Research-based teaching
