Associate QA Engineer (AI & Test Automation)
Salary: RM 3,500 – RM 5,000 per month
About the role
We are looking for an entry-level QA Engineer to test our product using AI-assisted automation tools.
Our QA team is at the forefront of using AI in testing. We build our own tooling: it drafts test plans and cases from requirements, runs the tests and reports the bugs it finds. You will run the automated tests, work out why each failure happened, and grow into an engineer who designs and automates tests of your own.
A technical background is required: you should understand how software is built and be able to read simple code. You will learn test automation on the job.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with product managers and developers to understand what each feature should do, and ask when a requirement is unclear or does not add up.
Run progression and regression testing — automated tests first, by hand where automation does not fit — across desktop web, mobile web (H5) and native iOS and Android apps. Work out whether each failure is a real defect, a test script problem or an environment or device issue.
Explore the product on different devices and environments to find problems the existing tests miss.
Report each defect with clear steps to reproduce, evidence, and expected versus actual results, and route it to the team that owns the fix.
Document your test work thoroughly, in the structured formats the AI tooling uses.
Take on writing and repairing automated test cases as you grow into the QA Engineer role.
Job Requirements:
A basic understanding of how software is built — how an application's screens, APIs, services and data fit together. Coding experience from study, projects or work helps, as do fundamentals in networking, databases or UI/UX design.
Able to read simple code and follow what it does, in a common language such as Python, Java, JavaScript or C / C++.
Hands-on use of AI tools — for study, projects or work — and the judgement to check what they produce rather than accept it. Keen to pick up new tools and technologies.
Strong analytical thinking — you look at a problem from several angles and ask why, rather than taking what you are told on trust.
Detail-oriented and quick to learn, able to work independently, and not afraid to ask for guidance or raise a blocker early.
Clear written and verbal communication, and comfortable working across teams.
A genuine interest in software testing — in finding out how things break.
Able to support release testing when a deployment window falls outside regular office hours.
A Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Computer / Telecommunication), Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent field, or comparable technical knowledge from courses, projects or work. Software Engineering graduates are preferred. Fresh graduates and career switchers are welcome to apply.
Required Language(s): English, Mandarin (you will liaise with Mandarin-speaking counterparts).
How this career will benefit you:
An AI-first, automation-first start. You work with AI-assisted tooling and automation from day one — still rare hands-on experience.
Learning on real work. You learn the team's checklists and tools on live projects, with guidance from experienced engineers.
A growth path. Progression into a QA Engineer role — designing tests and building automation of your own.
Benefits of this role:
Permanent, full-time position
13th Month Salary (upon Company Declaration)
Project Incentive (upon Company Declaration based on project performance)
