Asst. Cake Master
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Cake Master in planning and creating custom cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
- Prepare and mix ingredients for cakes, fillings, icings, and other baked items according to recipes and quality standards.
- Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques, including piping, molding, and fondant work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment is properly sanitized and stored.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and cake designs.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and appearance of all baked goods.
- Collaborate with the bakery team to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service, including taking orders and providing recommendations.
- Stay updated with industry trends and techniques in cake decoration and baking.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal training in baking and pastry arts is a plus.
- Proven experience as a cake decorator or similar role in a bakery.
- Strong artistic skills with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
- Proficiency in various cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, and molding.
- Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, including ingredient properties and measurements.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in product quality.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
