Asst Dispatcher
Position Purpose:
The primary function of an assistant dispatcher is to work in conjunction with the Dispatcher/Operations Manager to direct and coordinate the ordering and delivery of materials to customers in the day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements and enforce adherence to requirements.
- Complete warehouse and delivery requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
- Coordinate with personnel to ensure that service to the customer meets acceptable standards and generates positive feedback.
- Ensure compliance with the Safety and Loss Control Program.
- Cooperate with the Safety Director and GMS Risk Management representatives in the investigation and analysis of potential hazards to enforce methods and reduce losses of claims.

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time.
- Will frequently move about inside the office and warehouse.
- Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
- Must be able to communicate with team and management and exchange accurate information in these situations.
