Job Overview: This position may operate in a physician office, fitness center, or sports setting, and may perform any of the following job functions based upon the specific environment. Provides personalized guidance to individuals with medical conditions to develop, implement and progress individualized fitness/rehabilitation programs with the goal of progressing members to an independent exercise program. Provides assessment, orientation, exercise prescription, and fitness floor interaction geared toward special populations such as osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, orthopedic conditions, arthritis, or those needing recommendations on basic injuries. Works internally with staff to provide monthly continuing education and training on exercise prescription. Assists department in developing departmental goals, marketing or research.
Job Responsibilities: Works in conjunction with lead athletic trainer, physicians, therapists, member services, office staff to assist in the transition/immplementation of rehabilitation and therapy. Provides education to staff, coaches, athletes, medical personnel, patients, other community members in the care and prevention of athletic injuries. May provides community education through speeches and programming. Provides personalized, one on one guidance to members with medical conditions, implements and progresses individualized fitness programs, orients participants to equipment, facility and program. Documents and monitors post rehab participants through detailed chart documentation, tracking, and Fitlinxx messaging. Assists Physical Therapist in developing training programs and routines to improve athlete performance. Including applying protective or injury prevention devices, maintaining equipment, cleaning equipment, stocking supplies
