Athletic Training Support Assistant-SESPASST
The Athletic Training Support Assistant will help with the day to day operations of the athletic training room. This position includes different shifts that require different roles and responsibilities. These shifts include a front desk monitor, practice/game day set up assistant, pre-season assistant, and a Fuel Bar manager. There may also be an as needed game day assistant depending on qualifications. All of these different positions will require effective communication with the student supervisor, the other student employees, and athletes. Timeliness, a good work ethic, good communication, and a helpful attitude are required.
I am currently looking for individuals to help specifically as a pre-season assistant.
Athlete Training Pre-season Support Assistant
Shifts: variable throughout the day. 7 days a week.
Responsibilities:
- Available on or off campus from early to mid-August, until the start of the academic year.
- Fill, load, and deliver supplies to practice fields. (ice chests, water coolers, bottles, med kits, etc.) This may require lifting heavy loads greater than 20 lbs.
- Drive work vehicle responsibly.
- Set up cold whirlpools if needed
- Other tasks as requested by an ATC.
- Help student athletes with equipment needs, i.e., assisting them with hot packs, helping them with the normatec, wrapping ice bags, etc.
- Help the ATC’s clean and put away equipment and close down the athletic training room.
Front desk monitor
Shifts: 12-2, 4-6 pm, 6-8 pm
Responsibilities:
- Greet each individual at the door and have them sign in.
- Wipe off tables and put away equipment at the beginning of your shift and when people are done using the tables or equipment.
- Help student athletes with equipment needs, i.e., assisting them with hot packs, helping them with the normatec, wrapping ice bags, etc.
- Help the ATC’s clean and put away equipment post practices.
Practice/game day set up
Shifts: 2-4 pm; variable weekends
Responsibilities
- Check in with the Athletic Trainers to see what set up is needed for practice.
- Fill, load, and deliver supplies to practice fields. (ice chests, water coolers, bottles, med kits, etc.) This may require lifting heavy loads greater than 20 lbs.
- Drive work vehicle responsibly.
- Set up cold whirlpools if needed
- Other tasks as requested by an ATC.
Fuel Bar Manager
Shifts: 7-9 am; 3:30-6 pm
Responsibilities
- Set up and close the concessions area of the BEAR
- Oversee the disbursement of designated snacks to student athletes
