Summary

Implement and support SailPoint IdentityIQ/IdentityNow IAM solutions, build BeanShell rules and connectors, and enforce RBAC/SoD policies for compliance in regulated environments.

Role Purpose:

The Linux System Administrator is responsible for the administration, availability, security, performance, and operational support of enterprise Linux infrastructure. The role ensures Linux servers and associated services remain stable, secure, patched, monitored, backed up, and compliant with organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

● Install, configure, administer, and maintain Linux servers, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and other supported Linux distributions.

● Perform day-to-day Linux administration, including user/group management, file systems, permissions, services, processes, packages, and system configuration.

● Manage server provisioning, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning.

● Perform regular OS patching, vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and CIS compliance activities.

● Monitor server availability, CPU, memory, disk, filesystem, network, and overall system performance.

● Troubleshoot Linux OS, application connectivity, performance, storage, filesystem, and network-related incidents.

● Perform root-cause analysis for recurring or major incidents and implement permanent corrective actions.

● Manage LVM, filesystem expansion, mount points, NFS, and storage-related configurations.

● Support authentication and access management technologies such as LDAP, Active Directory, Kerberos, SSH, sudo, and PAM.

● Configure and troubleshoot Linux networking, including DNS, routing, firewall rules, ports, and connectivity.

● Develop and maintain Shell/Bash scripts to automate repetitive operational and administrative activities.

● Support monitoring, backup, enterprise scheduling, security, and infrastructure management tools.

● Maintain server build standards, operational procedures, architecture documentation, inventory, and technical runbooks.

● Participate in incident, problem, change, vulnerability, and capacity-management processes.

● Support disaster recovery exercises, backup/recovery validation, and business continuity requirements.

● Work closely with Database, Application, Network, Security, Storage, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams.

● Provide production support and participate in on-call/after-hours support for critical incidents and planned maintenance where required.

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of RHEL/Linux administration, Bash/Shell scripting, systemd, RPM/YUM/DNF, LVM, NFS, SSH, sudo, TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP/Kerberos, performance troubleshooting, patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening is expected.

Experience with VMware/Nutanix, AWS or other cloud platforms, Ansible or similar automation tools, monitoring platforms, CyberArk, backup technologies, and enterprise schedulers would be advantageous.

Experience & Qualifications:

Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, with approximately 5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in a production or enterprise environment. RHCSA/RHCE or equivalent Linux certifications are advantageous.
