Attribute Concepts Simulation & Design Quality Manager
Description
Manager– Attribute Concepts
Simulation & Design Quality
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam
Department: Vehicle Quality Assessment
Position Context
Lead the development of feasible,
lightweight, and cost-effective vehicle and system concepts through
function-based engineering, simulation, and design quality assessment. The role
establishes achievable targets, resolves integration risks, and guides architecture
and design decisions to deliver lean development with fewer iterations and
robust product performance.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead function-based concept development: Establish
how vehicle and system functions translate into architecture, load paths,
component requirements, and integration strategies.
- Direct detailed feasibility reviews: Challenge
proposed designs at component, subsystem, and vehicle levels, considering
functional performance, manufacturing capability, assembly,
serviceability, weight, and cost.
- Lead integration risk assessment: Ensure
critical interfaces, joints, mounts, and connections are assessed for
failure mechanisms, their consequences, and the evidence needed to
demonstrate robustness.
- Establish feasible engineering targets: Guide
the allocation of vehicle requirements to systems and components. Review
target justification, engineering margins, and sensitivity to usage and
production variation.
- Resolve design trade-offs: Lead decisions
where Safety, Durability, NVH, packaging, weight, cost, or manufacturing
requirements conflict; define acceptable solutions and document residual
risks.
- Drive lightweight and value engineering: Set
priorities for material efficiency, part consolidation, functional
integration, architecture commonality, and reduction of unnecessary design
complexity.
- Define assessment depth: Select the
appropriate combination of calculations, concept models, detailed
simulations, benchmarking, and physical testing according to risk and
design maturity.
- Enable lean development: Front-load critical
decisions, focus resources on high-risk uncertainties, and align
simulation and validation plans to reduce rework and late design changes.
- Govern design quality decisions: Establish
review criteria and provide evidence-based recommendations for concept
selection, design freeze, and tooling readiness.
- Lead complex issue resolution: Coordinate root
cause investigations across Design, CAE, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and
Validation; verify that corrective actions address the failure mechanism.
