Job Description

We are urgently seeking a skilled and experienced AutoCAD Draughtsman to join our construction company in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in civil construction drawings, architectural drafting, landscaping designs, hardscape and softscape layouts, and preparation of detailed technical drawings for construction projects.

The candidate must be proficient in AutoCAD and other relevant design software, with the ability to independently prepare, modify, and coordinate technical drawings in accordance with project specifications, consultant requirements, and UAE construction standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D AutoCAD drawings for civil construction, architectural, structural, and landscaping projects.
• Develop landscaping drawings, including hardscape, softscape, irrigation layouts, planting plans, paving designs, and external works.
• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, detailed sections, elevations, and construction layouts.
• Create and modify landscape designs for residential, commercial, villa, building, and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare drawings for walkways, interlock paving, kerbstones, boundary walls, outdoor seating areas, gardens, and landscape structures.
• Coordinate with civil engineers, landscape architects, project managers, consultants, and site engineers.
• Review architectural, structural, and landscaping drawings to identify discrepancies and resolve technical issues.
• Prepare drawings in compliance with project specifications, consultant comments, and applicable Abu Dhabi Municipality requirements.
• Update drawings based on site conditions, design modifications, and consultant instructions.
• Assist with material quantity take-offs and preparation of BOQs when required.
• Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and project documentation.
• Conduct site visits when required to verify dimensions and ensure drawings match actual site conditions.
• Support the engineering team in obtaining drawing approvals from consultants and relevant authorities.

Required Software Skills

Candidates must have excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, with strong working knowledge of relevant drafting, design, and visualization software.

• AutoCAD 2D & 3D – Mandatory
• Autodesk Civil 3D – Highly Preferred
• SketchUp – 3D landscaping and architectural modeling
• Autodesk Revit – BIM and construction modeling
• 3ds Max / Lumion / Enscape – 3D visualization and rendering
• Adobe Photoshop – Landscape presentations and design enhancements
• Microsoft Excel & MS Office – Documentation and quantity calculations

Knowledge of landscape design software, irrigation drafting tools, and other construction-related design applications will be an added advantage.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant UAE experience in a construction or landscaping company is mandatory.
• Strong practical experience in landscaping design, hardscape and softscape drawings, and civil construction drafting.
• Excellent knowledge of construction drawings, technical detailing, and shop drawing preparation.
• Experience in residential villas, commercial buildings, external works, and landscaping projects.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi construction standards, consultant requirements, and municipality procedures.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, civil, and landscape drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and technical coordination skills.
• Good English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict project deadlines.
