Automation / SRE Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Automation / Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Engineer with strong expertise in PagerDuty, Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Python, Bash scripting, and API-driven automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience automating incident management, operational workflows, service onboarding, and production support processes.

Candidates must have 4+ years of hands-on PagerDuty experience, including API integrations, workflow automation, incident-response automation, and operational runbooks.

Primary Skills – Must Have

• 6+ years of overall IT experience.
  

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with PagerDuty.
  

• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  

• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
  

• Hands-on experience with REST APIs and API-driven automation.
  

• Experience in workflow orchestration, operational automation, and runbook automation.
  

• Strong knowledge of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
  

• Solid understanding of SRE and DevOps principles.
  

• Experience in production troubleshooting, incident management, and automation.
  

• Ability to develop scalable, reusable, and reliable automation solutions.
  

Secondary Skills – Strongly Preferred

• PagerDuty APIs and PagerDuty Terraform Provider.
  

• Automated PagerDuty configuration and service onboarding.
  

• Incident-response workflow automation.
  

• Auto-remediation patterns and ChatOps integration.
  

• Integration testing and end-to-end automation validation.
  

• Automation logging, exception handling, and rollback mechanisms.
  

• Production support and incident management automation.

• Go programming and Ansible.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and develop the automation and engineering components of SRE initiatives.
  

• Design, implement, and maintain Terraform-based PagerDuty configurations wherever appropriate.
  

• Use PagerDuty APIs to enable repeatable configuration, integrations, and operational workflows.
  

• Develop and implement incident-response workflows, automated runbooks, and approved auto-remediation solutions.
  

• Integrate existing scripts, tools, monitoring platforms, and enterprise applications with PagerDuty.
  

• Automate service and application onboarding to minimize manual configuration.
  

• Implement API-driven operational workflows and ChatOps integrations.
  

• Establish appropriate validation, logging, exception handling, and rollback mechanisms.
  

• Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and end-to-end technical testing.
  

• Assist with production cutover, stabilization, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer.
  

• Follow DevOps and SRE best practices to improve operational reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
  

Candidate Requirements

• Must have 4+ years of hands-on PagerDuty experience.
  

• Must have strong Terraform, Python/Bash scripting, and automation skills.
  

• Must be available to join immediately or be serving a notice period.
  

• Must be willing to work in a hybrid model from Chennai, Bangalore, or Hyderabad.
